Carolina Doriti

A chef crafting stories through flavours

About

“What I seek in food is nourishment and fulfillment. To create through cooking smells and flavours that evoke warming feelings and memories common and relatable to us all. As a chef, food writer, and cookbook author, I find myself at the same time in a constant and passionate search for lost recipes, old cooking methods, and century-long traditions involving food and culture that ought to be preserved.”

Bio

Carolina Doriti was born in Greece and moved to the UK in 1997, where she earned a BA from the University of Sussex and an MA from Goldsmiths in London. Cooking has been her greatest passion since childhood, which she views not only as an art form but also as a meditation, a means of self-expression, and a heartfelt way to nourish and show love. Since 2005, she has worked as a chef and restaurant consultant, and in 2013, she began collaborating with Culinary Backstreets, an award-winning US-based food touring company with global reach.

Carolina writes about food and shares her recipes through Greek and international publications and websites. She is also the Culinary Producer for My Greek Table, a PBS series on Greek gastronomy broadcast across the US and Canada, and available on Amazon Prime. She has appeared on various cooking and food-related shows on international television and regularly hosts live and virtual cooking classes and workshops.

As a professional chef, curator, food traveler, and an enthusiast of food history, Carolina’s expertise spans a wide spectrum of culinary pursuits. She is continuously on a journey to discover new ingredients and innovative ways to use them, drawing on her profound knowledge of Greek cuisine, including its regional recipes and food traditions. Her creations reflect a balance of simplicity and complexity, rooted in cultural heritage yet irresistibly delicious.
